Keep It Longer: Where to Start with Repairs in Taiwan

This directory brings together four operators’ published service information, checked on September 26, 2026. It is a starting list, not a quality ranking or a report of repairs personally commissioned by OQUA. Brand restrictions matter. Published starting prices are not estimates for your particular item, and an open branch may not handle every service.

First identify the umbrella

Umbrella King’s repair policy applies to eligible repairable models bought from the retailer. It requires one accepted identifier, such as the repair card, anti-counterfeit sticker or factory QR label. The policy includes certain ribs, stitching and mechanisms, but excludes canopy or sleeve damage and improper-use damage. A functioning part that looks worn does not automatically qualify for free replacement.

Its page gives about four weeks as the usual repair period, or about five weeks for postal service. Customers pay shipping; the listed return postage is NT$80 for Taiwan’s main island and NT$100 for offshore islands. The mailing destination is its repair department, 8F, 109 Lide Street, Zhonghe District, New Taipei City, 235. Confirm current instructions before posting. Direct stores accept repairs, but the policy excludes POYA mini counters and MiniShop pop-ups.

For Fulton umbrellas bought from its Taiwan company, the published policy describes a one-year warranty with proof of purchase or qualifying account records. Eligible non-user-caused faults may be repaired free within that period; paid assessment and repair remain an option outside it. The operator quotes roughly two to three weeks and customer-paid return shipping. Start with its official LINE link or 02-7709-7660. Ask before visiting the Taipei direct-sales location; we are not treating it as an all-brand walk-in repair shop.

The practical difference is worth remembering: “my umbrella is broken” is not enough information. Send the brand, model or label, damage photographs and purchase evidence if you have it. If the fabric is torn, say that first rather than assuming a mechanism-repair policy will cover it.

A sandal sole has its own price list

Taiwan Birkenstock’s published repair list, dated March 13, 2025 and still displayed when checked, lists basic care at NT$400 per pair, an adult full EVA sole at NT$800 per pair, and adult heel sections at NT$600 per pair. These are different jobs. A worn sole and a damaged cork footbed should not be priced as if they were interchangeable.

The company directs customers to a store for assessment and reserves the right to change repair availability. Confirm that your model and purchase qualify, get the current total, and ask for the expected collection date. We have not found a dependable universal turnaround on that price page. Use the site’s store directory for the branch you intend to visit, rather than making a journey to a sales location and assuming the repair is accepted.

A bag zip: get the job specified

洗鞋達人’s published shoe-and-bag repair list lists bag zip replacement from NT$250, slider replacement from NT$120 and button replacement from NT$100. Stitching, handles and linings require a quote. The business lists 28 Daren 5th Street, Zhongli District, Taoyuan, and 03-4668886 as its contact details. This is the operator at p-sc.com.tw; similarly named businesses should not be assumed to share its prices.

Call before travelling or sending an item, confirm that the service is still offered, and request an estimate. The listed amount is a starting point, not a promise that a leather bag with an awkward lining can be fixed for the minimum charge.

Ask for a total you can decide on

Photograph the whole item and the damaged area in daylight. Include a view of any identifying label for the repairer, without sharing unnecessary personal details. Describe the fault in ordinary terms: the zip separates after closing, the sole is coming away at the toe, or the umbrella will not lock open. This is more useful than trying to name a replacement part you have not identified.

Then ask what will be replaced, whether the colour or material will change, the total including shipping, any assessment charge if you decline, and how long the repair should take. If the item means a great deal to you, mention which details must remain unchanged. Ask for approval before additional work rather than leaving the spending limit open.

One repaired object is enough

A small quote can become less attractive once two trips or postage are included. You are allowed to decide against it. Equally, a bag that fits your ordinary day may be worth repairing even when a cheap replacement exists. The useful comparison is with something you would actually choose to use.
